Always interested in how the human brain processes information

Posted on February 26, 2014August 14, 2025 by Justin Durand

Always interested in how the human brain processes information. In this study, they found that “When jazz musicians ‘trade fours’ they use parts of the brain linked to the structure of spoken language, but not those tied to spoken meaning.”

In other words, “it’s syntactic and not semantic processing that is key to this type of musical communication.”

My college Communications prof told there is a difference, but I’m not sure I believed him until now.
